How to play Mahjong Solitaire
Match two identical free tiles. Uncovered tiles with at least one horizontal side open can be selected. The five-slot reserve can hold free tiles to open new spaces. Match reserved tiles with the board or another reserved tile.
Computer, mobile and keyboard controls
Three paid helps use available points: Mark pair (50) highlights two matching playable tiles without removing them; Mix (100) rearranges remaining tiles with a verified route; Advance four pairs (250) removes eight playable tiles automatically. The reserve must be empty before mixing.
Mouse clicks and touchscreen taps use the same rules. Open the accessible controls for HTML move buttons. Escape pauses the focused board; Z undoes a move before the run ends. Changing tabs pauses play.
Tips and strategy
No help is charged if it cannot be performed. Four-pair help requires at least eight remaining tiles and four reachable pairs. Automatic mixing has been removed to avoid spending without a click. Available points include saved points, time rewards and unspent points from this run.
Score and Puzzle Coins
Manual pairs earn 100 points. Paid removal earns none. Historical scores remain separate from spendable points. Undo never refunds a help and cannot undo points already spent from the current run.
A finished run needs at least 10 active seconds to earn final coins. The reward is floor(score / 30) + 2 per full 30 active seconds, limited to 5–50 coins. Short runs still save their score. Time paused, hidden or idle for more than a minute is not counted.
Puzzle Coins belong only to this portal. Puzzle coins unlock permanent visual themes; hints and undo are free. Themes do not change the rules.
Saving and your profile
Won and lost runs save automatically. Use End & save to stop early. Your unfinished board resumes when you return. Guest coins and records stay in this browser. Your wallet and scores stay separate from Arcade. The leaderboard shows your own results, not other visitors.
